WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST VISIT?

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST VISIT?

When you book your appointment, you will receive forms to fill out via email that will be reviewed so that I have a baseline understanding of your needs. You will arrive and either wait in our waiting area (seat available) until your appointment time or be escorted into a private room.

You can expect space to share your story, an in depth review of your medical history, symptoms and what you'd like to achieve together. You will be listened to thoroughly and education will be provided. This will be followed by an orthopedic examination to determine how to move. If it is indicated based on your symptoms and complaints, it may be recommended to do an internal exam either vaginally or rectally. Some aspects of the pelvic floor are best assessed this way. You have the right to decline any aspect of recommended exams and there will be no questions asked. The end of your visit will include discussion on expected prognosis and recommendations on scheduling.

*Please wear something comfortable that allows you to move well*.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Wild Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider which means we do not work directly with insurance companies giving us the freedom to offer individualized services without insurance constraints and denials. Payment is collected at time of service, ensuring that you won't face any surprise medical bills. This straightforward approach helps you enjoy peace of mind while focusing on your care.

Upon request, a "superbill" will be generated that details the services rendered and cost of each to submit to your insurance company. This will generate an out-of-network claim and your insurance company will determine reimbursement. Use your insurers customer service and/or website to further understand out-of-network coverage.

DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION OR REFERRAL?

DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION OR REFERRAL?

In California, you can access Physical Therapy services directly without needing a referral for up to 45 calendar days or 12 visits, whichever comes first. If you wish to continue your physical therapy after this period, you'll need a physician or surgeon to see you in person and approve of continued Physical Therapy. You do not need a referral for nutrition, strengthening programming or basic exercise recommendations.

WHAT IS PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY?

WHAT IS PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY?

It is a specialized Physical Therapy that focuses on rehabilitation of the muscles of your core and of your pelvis. For all genders, these muscles support the bladder, intestines and reproductive organs and they impact bowel and bladder habits as well as sexual function. They help you with balance and shock absorption with movement. And finally, they allow for lymphatic drainage which helps manage inflammation and fluid flow in the body.

I AM PREGNANT, WHEN SHOULD I SEE YOU?

I AM PREGNANT, WHEN SHOULD I SEE YOU?

Anytime! It is best to learn how to prep for delivery, manage the pressure in your core as your body will be changing and to understand how to maintain your desired level of fitness as soon as you are able. It is never too late and even if you are in the early stages of family planning, I can provide valuable information on what to expect and how to prepare. I find too many mamas are left drinking from the fire hose, so let me be your guide. Pelvic floor internal examinations are best done after first trimester, however I am able to do so if you have written clearance from your OBGYN.

I AM POSTPARTUM, WHEN SHOULD I SEE YOU?

I AM POSTPARTUM, WHEN SHOULD I SEE YOU?

No matter your mode of delivery, I highly recommend coming in within 3-6 weeks postpartum. If you are experiencing pain or symptoms, please come in sooner for relief and guidance. Internal pelvic floor assessments are not indicated until 6 weeks postpartum or until your OBGYN provides clearance. Again, it is never too late, so even if you are 6+ months postpartum, I am here to help.

I AM ON MY PERIOD, CAN I STILL COME?

I AM ON MY PERIOD, CAN I STILL COME?

Yes! We can even chat about how your periods are feeling and how to best match your training, rest and lifestyle to your cycle. We are always able to work externally as needed.

DO YOU ONLY TREAT THE PELVIC FLOOR?

DO YOU ONLY TREAT THE PELVIC FLOOR?

I treat the whole body, not just the pelvic floor as all systems and movement patterns are connected. I have extensive knowledge in orthopedics, nutrition, movement analysis, etc and have found jaw mechanics are connected to many dysfunctions in the body and have added this to my practice. Pelvic Floor is a strong passion and not the only service provided.
